How much does delivery cost?

Delivery costs are as follows:


Orders under £200 - Royal Mail Standard signed for service* £4.99

Orders over £200 - Royal Mail Trackable and signed for service* £8.99

International orders - please contact Kate Mead for a postal quote before ordering 



*Please make sure that you are available to take delivery for the product since we provide a signed for service, an email will be sent to you with an expected delivery date, please supply a relevant email address and suitable delivery address when ordering.

How long will it take to receive my order?

The nature of Kate’s work means all pieces are handmade with time and attention taken in crafting each unique piece.

Her products are not mass produced so please allow 28 days for delivery of goods, although in some instances where products are available, delivery within two weeks can be achieved. If purchasing multiple products Kate will be in contact to arrange delivery timescales.

For bespoke made products or designs commissioned for a wedding please contact Kate directly to discuss delivery dates and deadlines.

Can I have a piece made to order, or a bespoke design produced?

Yes, all designs can be made to order or a bespoke piece produced to suit a particular occasion or colour pallet. Contact me to find out more.

Can the designs be altered to different sizes?

Yes most designs can be altered to fit any size, a measurement would be requested and your chosen product adapted to suit, the price of which would depend on the amount of alteration required, minor changes are often free of charge but please contact me for more details.

Can I wash the products, or how can they be cleaned?

Products must not be machine washed, we recommended a clean damp cloth to be used to remove any stains, please do a patch test on an area before applying any cleaning chemicals, however using chemicals or cleaning agents is at the client’s discretion and is not recommended. Faults through washing will not be refunded.

Are the products suitable for young children?

No, I do not recommend any of the products for young child due to a possible choking hazard. Some of the designs such as the brooch pins also contain very sharp objects and are therefore not suitable for children.

Can I return my item?

Yes, we offer a seven day refund policy (excluding bespoke made to order designs), designs must be returned with the security label still fully attached and without fault or wearing. Please email to inform us of a return and the reason why. 


Please note we have the right to refuse items for return if we suspect the piece has been worn or purposely damaged (this includes washing). The item cost will be refunded excluding the postage and packaging fee.



Products returned after the seven day period will not be refunded unless found to be faulty. In this instance an exchange or replacement will be offered in its place.

Please note if you have purchased a piece from an exhibition or another stockiest no refunds are accepted through us and should be returned to the retailer.

How do I return my piece?

Package the piece as it was sent complete with the attached label, using a signed for service and post back to our address.

Kate Mead Designs are not held responsible for pieces lost in a return post, so we recommend a signed for service is always used, if a piece is of high value, Royal Mail Next day or Special Delivery will insure the goods up to £500 with a traceable service, please visit the Royal mail website for more details http://www.royalmail.com.

I’m a retailer or buyer how do I stock your products?

I’m press do you have any press packs and images available?

Yes, please contact me directly and a press pack with images will be issued or arrangements can be made to access products.

I’m a student do you take on work placements?

Due to the current studio environment the answer is unfortunately no, but I am happy to answer any reasonable questions that may help with your studies.

Do you do workshops or teach?

Yes, I have completed my post 16 teacher training and enjoy visiting lecturing and workshop based activities, please contact me for more details or to discuss ideas.

Do you exhibit and where?

Yes, all up and coming exhibitions and trade shows are listed in the ‘Blog’ section. If you want to be updated on events and new collections launches please join the mailing list by simply using the contact form stating you wish to be included. Please be aware that we do not share your information with any third parties.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, if you contact Kate directly with the product(s) you are interested in purchasing a delivery quote will be given to you.

What payment methods do you accept?

When going through the secure payment checkout you will be asked to pay through Paypal we will not accept payment over the phone or through any other means such as cheques.
